For Realyn Revaldo, Permanent Makeup (PMU) is more than enhancing beauty, it’s a way of touching lives. What started as inspiration from her own family grew into a true calling, one fueled by passion and guided by the desire to help others feel more confident in themselves.

To her, PMU isn’t just about artistry and precision. It’s about care, connection, and the joy of seeing someone’s confidence shine through.

Background & Story

Realyn’s journey into the world of Permanent Makeup (PMU) began with inspiration from her sister, who was also a PMU artist based in Paris, France, a city known for its timeless elegance and artistic spirit. While there, she noticed how many overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) sought beauty treatments to boost their confidence. “I was inspired by my sister, and I saw how many OFWs in Paris wanted treatments to feel more beautiful and confident,” Realyn recalls. “That’s when I realized how powerful PMU can be in changing someone’s self-esteem.”

Determined to pursue the craft, she trained rigorously under the mentorship of Ms. Princess Ramos, a highly respected professional with over 12 years of experience, international credentials, and ownership of the International Mastery of Cosmetology and Aesthetics (IMCA). “My training lasted several months, from July to September, and it gave me the discipline and strong foundation I needed,” Realyn shares.

When asked what she loves most about her work, her answer comes from the heart: “The most rewarding part is seeing my clients leave happy, walking out of my clinic not just more beautiful, but also more confident in themselves.”

Artistry & Style

Realyn Revaldo describes her artistry as unique, innovative, and continuously evolving. She takes pride in her craftsmanship and highlights her strength as a color corrector—an advanced skill many artists find difficult. “My signature style is all about uniqueness and craftsmanship. I always innovate, and I’ve mastered color correction, which not all artists can do,” she explains.

Her specialties are lips, brows, and topliner, and she takes great care to ensure that each design suits the client’s natural features and personality. “I assess my client’s face, then draw a design on their brows. I even encourage them to go home first, reflect on it, and ask their family for suggestions, whether it should be longer, wider, or thinner.

That way, the final look is truly unique for them,” she shares. When asked what sets her apart, Realyn is quick to point to her priorities: “I always put my clients’ happiness first. I focus on quality and affordability, not just in my services but also in the materials I use. For me, PMU isn’t just about beauty, it’s about giving confidence.”

Client Care & Safety

For Realyn Revaldo, client comfort and safety always come first. She takes every precaution seriously, from proper gowning and handwashing to the use of PPE and a fully sanitized environment. “I want my clients to feel safe the moment they walk in. Their trust means everything to me,” she shares.

She also makes sure that first-time clients feel at ease by starting with a temporary pencil design, allowing them to visualize the outcome before any procedure begins. “This way, they can see how it will look and feel more confident about moving forward,” she explains. Sessions are kept within a maximum of two hours, giving her enough time for precision while ensuring comfort. To support clients even after they leave, Realyn provides a detailed aftercare card with clear do’s and don’ts, along with personal explanations. “I want them to feel guided every step of the way, even during healing. It’s not just about the procedure, it’s about caring for them after,” she emphasizes.

Trends & Education

Realyn Revaldo believes that excellence in PMU means never stopping the learning process. To keep her skills sharp and stay ahead of the latest trends, she offers advanced techniques such as combi brow microshading and microblading—a highly sought-after style that blends softness with definition. She has also mastered the nanostroke technique, which requires intensive training and precision. “Not everyone who practices PMU can do nanostroke. It takes a lot of skill and practice, and that’s something that sets me apart,” she explains. Her dedication to growth is evident in her commitment to continuous international education. She regularly attends global conferences and mastery courses, including the Dubai PMU Beauty Worldwide Global Conference, and has upcoming training in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. These programs, accredited in both Europe and the U.S., allow her to expand her expertise and bring internationally recognized standards to her clients.

Myths & Misconceptions About PMU

As PMU grows in popularity, Realyn wants clients to be well-informed and reassured. She often encounters common myths and takes time to explain the truth behind them.

One of the biggest misconceptions is that PMU lasts forever. “Many think it’s permanent like a tattoo, but that’s not true. Retouches are needed every six months to a year to keep the results fresh,” she explains.

Another myth is that PMU always looks fake or too harsh. In reality, modern techniques focus on creating natural, subtle enhancements tailored to each client’s features. “The goal is always to make it look soft and natural—like an improved version of yourself, not something artificial,” Realyn emphasizes.

She also clarifies that PMU isn’t limited to eyebrows. It can enhance lips, eyeliner, lash lines, and even be used for scalp treatments or scar coverage. Safety is another common concern, but Realyn assures clients that with proper hygiene, numbing, and certified training, PMU is both safe and comfortable.

Ultimately, her mission is to educate clients while delivering results that make them feel beautiful and confident.

Personal Touch

Beyond the artistry, Realyn carries with her stories that remind her of the deeper meaning of her work. She recalls one client who came in feeling frustrated after several unsuccessful attempts with other artists to fix overly dark brows. With patience and skill, Realyn was able to lighten them. The result left such an impact that the client returned a few days later, not for another treatment, but simply to say thank you.

For Realyn, it’s moments like this that make all the difference. “The most rewarding part is really simple,” she says. “It’s when clients smile, when they say thank you, when I can see their confidence coming back. That’s what makes me love what I do.”

Looking Ahead

While Permanent Makeup will always be at the heart of her work, Realyn is now expanding her expertise into the field of medical aesthetics. With her background in nursing, she is preparing for her board exams and looks forward to offering treatments such as Botox, mesotherapy, and advanced machine-assisted procedures.

For her, this next step is a natural extension of her mission, to help people feel beautiful, confident, and cared for. Her journey reflects not only dedication and artistry, but also a genuine heart for her clients. With every stroke, every shade, and every detail, Realyn Revaldo continues to transform not just appearances, but lives, one confident smile at a time.
